Kim Hill, New Zealand’s premier radio personality, last night delivered a Distinguished Communicator Lecture co-hosted by the Department of English and the Centre for Science Communication.
A capacity crowd of 500 turned up to hear Kim’s impassioned plea for scientists to become better “storytellers.” What she is advocating, is exactly what the Centre for Science Communication attempts to address in its Master of Science Communication degree, where storytelling is the heart of the programme and the subject of paper SCOM 402.

The Department of English is a key partner with the Centre and teaches paper
SCOM 427 (The Essay: creative nonfiction) as part of the MSciComm in Creative Nonfiction Writing.
