DVD on Otago Peninsula Released
10/07/07

A DVD on the people and wildlife of the Otago Peninsula (A Visual Journey of the Otago Peninsula) was launched by the Otago Peninsula Community Board at a function held last night in the Portobello Hall.
The DVD consists of two films. One is Out of the Blue – a film made by Humphrey Tauro and Kathryn Hodgkinson as their student film for the Class of 2004/05. It is a sweeping look at the wildlife on the Otago Peninsula, with superb cinematography of albatross, penguins, seals and many other wonderful creatures that call the peninsula their home.
The other film was also made by a graduate of our programme, Lucy Birkinshaw (Class of 2002), and was made as a commissioned work specifically for the Otago Peninsula Community Board. It is called Peninsula People and, as the name suggests, it is about the human inhabitants of the Otago Peninsula.
The DVD features a painting on its cover by renowned Peninsula artist Pauline Bellamy. Copies of the DVD may be purchased from Bellamy’s Gallery at Macandrew Bay.
