Sandy Crichton graduated from the Postgraduate Diploma in Natural History Filmmaking at the University of Otago. While doing the diploma he simultaneously began work on a film about New Zealand falcons. After graduating he went on to continue making the film and in the process set up Catskill Films, a video production company.









Karearea: the pine falcon has now picked up a host of awards, including 1st Place in the Outdoors Category at the Twin Rivers Festival, the Mayor’s Award for Best Short Documentary at the Lake Havasu International Film Festival, and two Merit Awards and an Honorable Mention at the 31st International Wildlife Film Festival.
